Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired (CDHI) serves persons with hearing disabilities. CDHI provides interpreting services, job counseling and placement, personal and family counseling, information and referral services, as well as research and advocacy. Department of Mental Retardation (DMR) coordinates and oversees services for people of all ages with mental retardation. These include: comprehensive case management; early intervention for infants and toddlers; community-based residential programs; supported living for people in their own residences; job training and supported employment; respite and other family support; and habilitative day programs. All services are subject of the availability of resources and may require a waiting period. Services and referrals to community resources are available through five regions. DMR's Birth to Three Program is a statewide early intervention program for infants and toddlers with developmental delays. The system includes a range of services for children from birth to 36 months, such as home visits, therapies, developmental evaluation, parent support and health services, depending on the needs of the child and his/her family.
