The chapters of the Code contain all currently effective ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted by the Town Council. This includes revisions or amendments to existing legislation and the subdivision regulations adopted by the Town's Plan and Zoning Commission.

Planning & Zoning Permits, Application and Guides: (860) 561-7555
The Planning & Zoning Office offers a variety of informational guides to help residents and business owners through the application process, as well as permits and applications that can be downloaded. The office is located in Room 214 of Town Hall, (860) 561-7555. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Snow and Ice Removal by Residents: (860) 561-8100
Removal of snow and ice from premises where there is an established sidewalk is required by owners or occupants within 12 hours after a storm ends or within 12 hours after sunrise, whichever is later. Sidewalks should be sanded whenever ice cannot be removed. Violators are subject to a per day fine plus liability for the cost of clearing the sidewalk, if necessary, per Town Ordinance 155-8. It is also illegal to put snow into the street.

Any person having a legitimate need to place materials or work in a street or road way must apply for a permit to do so. Contact the Department of Public Works.
