Public Health Prevention & Promotion Programs
The West Hartford-Bloomfield District provides programs and support to prevent epidemics and to promote health behaviors to residents. Specific programs and support include:
- Child and adult immunization clinic for vaccine preventable diseases such as measles and influenza
- Child care provider training, consultation and information for residents seeking child care
- Monitoring and surveillance of reportable infectious disease in the community
- Providing management of children with elevated levels of lead in their blood
- Promotion of health through wellness clinics and selected health class topics for all ages, especially our seniors
- Monitor and report health status data to state and federal agencies
