Volunteer Services actively recruits volunteers from the community to provide support services to elderly residents. On-going programs include the friendly visitor program, grocery assistance, medical escort services, telephone reassurance. Training for all volunteer programs is provided.
The staff also works with various volunteer and service organizations in town to coordinate outreach programs that benefit the community as a whole. The staff often acts as a referral source for the court system in recommending appropriate programs and activities for the fulfillment of community service requirements.
