Special
Events Insurance
The renter is required to purchase special events insurance coverage
through the Town of West Hartford. The policy provides $1 million of
coverage with a $500 deductible.
Business
Related Events
When the event is business related, the renter has the option of purchasing
special events insurance coverage through the town or adding a rider
to his/her existing commercial general liability policy naming the Town
of West Hartford as an additional insured. A certificate of insurance
must be presented at least two weeks prior to the event. The certificate
must also include evidence of workers compensation and employers liability
insurance as required by the Labor Code of the State of CT.
Catering
Requirements
When the function is catered, the caterer must be licensed by the State
of Connecticut and must present proof of the license at least two weeks
prior to the event. The caterer must also present a certificate of insurance
two weeks prior to the event as evidence that commercial general liability,
workers compensation and employers liability insurance are in place.
Alcoholic
Beverages
The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in
the Conference Center, with the exception of keg beer, which is not
allowed at any function. The use of alcoholic beverages must be in compliance
with state laws:
