Energy Conservation Challenge
2011 UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Conservation Challenge was cancelled this year due to the big winter storm that hit Connecticut at the end of October and the subsequent loss of so many school days.

The West Hartford Public Schools (WHPS) Conservation Challenge is an annual competition between our schools to conserve as much electricity as possible. ALL staff members and students work together to watch their watts each and every day. It’s that easy! The school that reduces its electricity use the most (in %) is awarded the Energy Conservation Trophy.

The Energy Conservation Trophy, handmade out of recycled CFLs and printer cartridges by Brigid Kennedy, an art teacher at Conard High School.
