The Planning and Zoning Division is responsible for the administration of the West Hartford Zoning Regulations, as well as the review and coordination of all land use applications.
STAFF FUNCTIONS:
- Plan Review & Permitting - the Planning Office reviews all planned development requiring site plan approval, special use permits, wetland permits, zoning permits, lot splits, lot line revisions, subdivisions, special development district approvals and building permits that may include building expansions or change of use.
- Zoning Enforcement - the Zoning Office enforces the zoning code of the Town of West Hartford and staffs and administers the actions of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA).
- Administrative Support to the Commissions - The Planning & Zoning Division provides administrative support to the Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency, and the Design Review Advisory Committee. These Town Council appointed commissions approve subdivisions, special use permits, wetland permits and advises Town Council on zoning changes.
