Planning

The Planning Office is responsible for the coordinate and review of all land use applications.

Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency (IWWA)

The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency is the authority which approves, modifies or denies a wetlands application. The Town Plan & Zoning Commission acts as the IWWA and the Town Planner acts as the Wetlands Administrative Officer.

Town Plan and Zoning Commission (TPZ)

The Town Plan & Zoning Commission guides the development of the community through zoning regulations and subdivision regulations.   The TPZ is granted the authority to prepare and adopt the Plan of Conservation and Development.  The commission meets on the first Monday of the month or as noted on the meeting calendar.

Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD)

Conservation and Environment Commission (CEC)

The Conservation and Environment Commission develops and conserves natural resources and protects the integrity of the environment within the territorial limits of the Town.  

The CEC meets the last Monday of the month or as noted on the meeting calendar.

  • CEC meeting schedule will be posted as soon as it becomes finalized

Design Review Advisory Committee (DRAC)

The Design Review Advisory Committee was established  for the purpose of promoting and encouraging public and private actions to maintain a high character of community development, to protect the public health, safety, convenience and welfare and to protect real estate within the municipality from impairment or destruction of value. 

The Committee meets at such time as required.

Zoning, Wetland and Floodplain Maps

  • Geographic Information System (GIS) Use the GIS maps to find zone. Use the interactive mapping tab to find wetland and floodplain maps for a property location.
  • Maps are available in the Planning Office and On-Line Map Library
  • Floodplain information is provided to residents, banks, insurance companies and developers.
