Special Needs
Leisure Services Special Needs Program provides a full array of high quality recreational programs designed specifically for children, teens and adults with special needs. While most of the programs are operated at Elmwood Community Center, inclusion assistance is provided for those wishing to enroll in a class or program offered at other Town of West Hartford facilities.
Conversations regarding inclusive recreation and associated needs must take place with the Special Needs Program Coordinator at least two weeks prior to class start date. Information and referral services are also offered for those with needs that can be best addressed by regional programming or services.
The Special Needs Program also plans a range of social and entertainment opportunities throughout the year.

 ~UNIFIED THEATER TM ALLSTARS~ This fun, non-competitive, inclusive theater program is returning for its 5th summer at the Elmwood Community Center under the direction of Jeff Gilberto. Unified Theater brings people of different abilities, age 14 through adult, together to create a truly unique show that will be performed at the Elmwood Community Center. Residents only.
Rehearsal dates are August 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 from 6 pm - 8 pm.
