Holiday Recycling Guide
Don’t let your refuse barrel fill up with holiday trash. Recycle! The following items recyclable should be place in your blue automated recycling barrel:
Greeting cards (no photo cards), envelopes, gift tags
Wrapping paper (no foil paper)
Corrugated and boxboard boxes (remove wooden handles and frames)
Corrugated corner protectors
Gift bags (remove plastic handles)
Please Note: No Styrofoam, no twist ties or wires, no screws or plastic bolts, no plastic bags
Maximize the space in your barrel by placing small recyclables in the bottom of the barrel and larger items in the middle to upper portion of the barrel where it is the widest. Lay flatten cardboard across the top with lid slightly open.
If your automated recycling barrel is too full, store the overflow in an old barrel until the next recycling collection.
No Trash Collection Delays
There will be no delay in the collection of trash and recyclables due to the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
Holiday Closings
Town Hall, public libraries, school administration offices and recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2011 and Monday, January 2, 2012.
