AQUATICS SUPERVISOR

Salary $18.00-$21.00 per hour

The Town of West Hartford is accepting applications for the position of Seasonal/Part-time Aquatic Supervisor, with responsibilities in the Outdoor Aquatics area.  Position includes hiring, training and managing 90+ seasonal employees; ordering rescue equipment, uniforms and first aid supplies.  Employees include: Supervisors, Managers, Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors (WSI), Cashiers and Swim Team Coaches.  Outdoor Pools are located at four (4) town parks: Eisenhower, Fernridge, Kennedy and Beachland.

FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM COORDINATOR (Part-Time)
The Town of West   Hartford is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator for the Department of Human and Leisure Services.  Position entails assisting in managing the town’s food pantry, fundraising and community outreach.

Approximately 18 hours per week (position requires working 3 days - Tuesday (until 6 p.m.), Wednesday and Friday.  Occasional weekend hours.  Salary: $16.70 - $24.70 per hour.  No benefits.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Business, Community Organization or related field and at least two years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicant must possess strong organization, communication and customer service skills. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR

Seasonal Instructors are wanted to teach outdoor nature programs at Westmoor Park and offsite locations. Westmoor   Park is a 162 acre environmental education facility with a demonstration farm and gardens located in West Hartford Connecticut. Qualifications: Knowledge and experience in the natural sciences, with an ability to plan and present educational programs; experience working with children is required.  Responsibilities: Teach primarily 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students during the school day, a well-defined curriculum of hands-on ecology studies.
