The West Hartford Food Pantry

Donations of non-perishable food items are always needed for the emergency food pantry and deeply appreciated. Food donated is given to low-income residents in need of emergency food assistance. Residents in need of help with food should contact the main office at 561-7561.

People may bring their donations to Town Hall, which is located at 50 South Main Street, and leave them in the lobby. Town Hall is open to the public between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Groups interested in organizing a food drive to help West Hartford's emergency food pantry should contact Linda Hanson in the Department of Human and Leisure Services at 561-7567 or lindah@westhartford.org.

Non-perishable food items regularly distributed year-round by the food pantry include: regular sized boxes of breakfast cereal (hot and cold), tuna, corned beef hash, beef stew, pasta, spaghetti sauce, macaroni & cheese, Spaghetti O's, peanut butter, jelly, tuna and hamburger helper, small boxes of rice or rice mixes, instant potatoes, cans of soup, vegetables, fruit, beans, meat, and small bottles of cooking oil. Household and personal toiletry items are also appreciated.

Anyone interested in making a financial donation to help the Town purchase needed food items may send a check, made payable to "The Town That Cares" fund, Department of Human and Leisure Services, Room 306, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT. 06107.
