- Searching for a property record
There are three ways that a Property Record can be retrieved.
- Navigating through each property record
In each property record, there are eight tabs on the navigation tool bar. Each of
these tabs links to a different set of data.
- Printing a property record
The West Hartford property records system offers two different formatted pages
for printing.
- Finding another property record
To begin a new search for another parcel record in the property records system,
select Find another parcel at the upper left hand corner of the page.
This will bring you back to the default search page.
FIND A PARCEL BY
ADDRESS OR OWNER'S NAME
To find a parcel using this method, you must provide at least one of
these three search criteria:
A. House number - select from the pull down menu to
specify the type of entry. They include Equals (default), Starts
with, Contains, or Ends with
B. Street name - select either Starts with (default),
Contains, or Ends with to denote the type of entry
C. Owner's last name - select either Starts
with (default), Contains, or Ends with
For example, if you are looking for 99 WHITEHILL DR but you are not sure
whether it is spelled WHITE HILL or WHITEHILL, you can perform the following search:

The Sort by pull down menu allows you to control how
your search result is to be displayed. You can either sort the results by Street
and House Number or by the Owner's last name.
When all of the search criteria have been entered, click on Search
to submit your request. To clear all fields, click the Reset button.

FIND A PARCEL ON THE MAP
A. Viewing the map
Click on Go to Map to display an interactive map where you can
locate and select a parcel for record retrieval.
B. Changing the Map Level
Use the zoom bar, located above the map, to change the map level. There are ten
pre-defined zoom levels, ranging from the town layer to the parcel layer. Select the radio
button of your desired map level and the map will be redrawn accordingly. To redraw the
map at the town level, click on the Town button.
C. Panning the map
There are four arrows located on the outer perimeter of the map. Clicking on each
of them will pan your map in that direction.
D. Re-Centering the map
To center the map, click the Centers radio button. When this option is
selected, clicking on any point on the map will redraw the map, centering it on the
point clicked.
E. Changing the map display
The map can be displayed in several different formats (Zoning and/or
Building) . Select the appropriate check box(es) and then click
the Draw button. The map will be redrawn according to the criteria you
have chosen.
F. Selecting the parcel
Once you have identified the parcel that you would like to retrieve property
information, click the Selects Parcel radio button and then click on any
portion of that parcel to highlight and select that given parcel.
G. Retrieving the Property Record
When a parcel has been selected, the ID of that parcel will be displayed in
the Parcel field located just below the map. You can now select Get
Basic Info to retrieve its property record.

FIND A PARCEL BY ITS ID
NUMBER
In the Parcel field, enter the Parcel ID
number. Click the Search button to retrieve the
property record.
To clear all fields, click the Reset button.

NAVIGATING THROUGH
EACH PROPERTY RECORD

Base Parcel Data - includes Parcel Address and Owner
Information
Assessment Data - includes property value |

Building Information - includes number of rooms and living area |

Digital picture of the property (if available). |

Displays a sketch of the property along with a short
description. |

Lists all previous sales and transfer information |

Lists all permits issued for that parcel after January 1,
1980. |

Lists miscellaneous improvements relating to the property. |

This page displays a map of the parcel along with a table
describing the parcel dimensions and land information. By clicking on the map or Go
to interactive map you can access the street level map of where the selected
parcel is located. Here, the parcel that you had been viewing is highlighted on the map.
Also, its parcel ID is displayed in the Parcel text box. At this point,
you can either select adjacent or nearby parcels or you can begin a new search. Please
refer to Find a Parcel on the Map for further details. |

PRINTING A
PROPERTY RECORD
Summary

This is an example of a Summary page. It contains a basic summary of the
parcel, owner and assessor's information. In addition, this page also has a digital image
and map of the property.

Print Sketch

This is an example of the Print Sketch page. It contains a sketch of the
property's layout along with measurement information.
